Techdamentals vs Seeking Alpha Quant Ratings

A letter grade from a factor model, or a fair value from four named methods with the arithmetic shown. Both answer "is it cheap?". Only one of them can be checked by the person reading it.

Who each one is for

Seeking Alpha's Quant Ratings grade every covered stock on a five-step scale from Strong Sell to Strong Buy, built from five factors (valuation, growth, profitability, momentum and earnings revisions), each graded A+ to F against the stock's sector. They sit inside a much bigger product: thousands of contributor articles, earnings call transcripts, news, a portfolio tracker and coverage of stocks, ETFs and funds worldwide. Premium is the tier most people compare.

Techdamentals produces no grade and no rating. It gives a fair value, a range around it, the verdict that follows from where today's price sits, and the four methods that produced it, each with its own figure. The formulas are on the methodology page. It covers US-listed companies and refuses funds and ETFs.

Where Seeking Alpha is better

Breadth, and the crowd. Seeking Alpha covers the world, including ETFs and funds, which Techdamentals doesn't touch. It has earnings call transcripts, news and a portfolio tracker in the same place. The Quant Ratings publish a track record you can go and read. And the articles, for all their disagreement, give you a dozen informed perspectives on a company that Techdamentals gives you exactly one impersonal view of. If you want the debate, that is where it lives.
