AI chart analysis, compared: ReadR and the alternatives

Paste a chart, get it read. What separates a tool built for that from a general chatbot with a screenshot, and from apps that turn the read into a trade.

Three things the same words mean

"AI chart analysis" now covers three different products. The first is a general chatbot: paste a screenshot into whichever assistant you already pay for and ask what it sees. The second is an add-on inside a bigger portal, such as InvestingPro's chart analysis or an indicator summary on a charting site. The third is a single-purpose app that takes your chart and hands back an entry, a stop and a target.

ReadR, the chart half of Techdamentals, is the first kind of tool done properly, and deliberately not the third. It reads the picture with a language model, then a fixed, tested tally counts how much of the chart agrees with the read. It describes the chart and never tells you what to do about it.

What you get backA paragraph, different each time you askAn entry, a stop and a targetThe direction (bullish, bearish or neutral) with the plain meaning beside it, the floors and ceilings, the shape of the chart, the candle patterns, the volume, and a tally of how much of the chart agrees
ConsistencyAsk twice, get two answersConsistent, because it's a templateThe read comes from a language model; everything counted after it (what agrees, what dissents, whether volume backs the move) is fixed code, so the words can never disagree with the count

Where the alternatives are better

Range, follow-ups and speed. A general chatbot can be asked anything, including follow-up questions, and it will look at charts of things ReadR doesn't cover, such as a currency pair or a futures contract. A signal app is faster if a trade plan is what you came for, because ReadR will not give you one. And chart analysis inside a portal sits next to the news, the quotes and the calendar, which is convenient if you already live there.

Where ReadR is different

The price, and the date

This page was checked on 30 September 2026. The alternatives here are categories rather than one product, so no single price is quoted for them. ReadR is part of Techdamentals Pro at $10 a month, covering both apps, cancel anytime, and the seven-day trial includes three chart reads with nothing locked.

The quickest comparison is a chart you already have.

Paste it into ReadR and into whatever you use now, and compare what each one admits it can't see.
